چکیده
Better understanding of ischemic brain injury mechanisms is important for the development and improvement diagnostic therapeutic modalities management stroke. As experimental studies are on demand, there’s a need relevant models focal lesions. Photochemically induced thrombosis remains one most popular The purpose review to consider pathogenesis applicational relevance photochemical in stroke modeling. Material methods. information was searched using PubMed Google Scholar databases keywords «photothrombotic stroke» without language restrictions. 74 papers out more than 600 sources were found this selected analysis. Of these, 50% have been published last five years. criterion excluding source an inconsistency with objectives low content. Results. We outlined variety features modeling photothrombotic stroke, analyzed advantages disadvantages model, presented data current method’s modifications, as well approaches evaluation lesions by photothrombosis, summarized about damage model. Conclusion. Several such invasiveness, high reproducibility, inherent control infarction volume mortality, determine its active use Pathological processes modeled similar occurring acute cerebral circulation events. Therefore, model provides insights into cellular molecular damage, can be used developing novel

Combination of Lidocaine and Chloral Hydrate as a New Method of Anesthesia in a Rat Model of Ischemic Stroke
Background and purpose: In experimental studies, proper choice of anesthesia method is important for both validity of results and improving the rate of success and mortality. In current study, we examined the effects of lidocaine combined with chloral hydrate for induction of anesthesia in a rat model of ischemic stroke. Materials and methods: In this research, 30 male rats were studied as sha...
متن کاملCorrelation Between Cannabidiol-Induced Reduction of Infarct Volume and Inflammatory Factors Expression in Ischemic Stroke Model
Introduction: Recent studies demonstrated that cannabidiol had neuroprotective property. Thereis some evidence about effective role of cannabidiol in reducing ischemic damages. It has been reported that infarct size is influenced by various factors after MCAO, including inflammatory factors. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the effect of cannabidiol on infarction volume and correlat...
متن کاملEvaluation of Homocysteine Level as a Risk Factor among Patients with Ischemic Stroke and Its Subtypes
Background: Epidemiological research has shown that increased total homocysteine (tHcy) levels are associated with an increased risk of thromboembolic disease; however, controversy still exists over which subtype of stroke is allied to hyperhomocysteinemia. This study aimed to investigate whether elevated tHcy is an independent risk factor for ischemic stroke and to compare tHcy levels in patie...
متن کاملAcute Finger Paralysis: A Case Report of Cortical Ischemic Stroke
Somatotopic distribution of motor cortex and sensory fibers is theoretically fully understood. We present a case of stroke, mimicking peripheral palsy, with finger paralysis attributed to cortical lesion. The patient’s brain MRI may be useful to further understand the somatotopic representation of fingers in precentral and postcentral gyrus.
متن کاملEvaluation of UCP2 expression in the phenomenon of ischemic resistance induced by alternating normobaric hyperoxia in a rat model of stroke
Introduction: ischemic preconditioning is one of the most important mechanisms, responsible for the increased brain resistance after stroke. One of the most important candidates to ischemia preconditioning is intermittent normobaric hyperoxia. In this study, the effect of intermittent normobaric hyperoxia on the expression of UCP2 was investigated in a stroke model. Methods: Rats were divid...
